Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and fourteen counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

 

Food & Friends seeks a Capital Campaign Manager to implement and manage the planning and execution of a $30 million campaign.  Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Campaign Manager will:

 

  • Direct all aspects of the campaign including donor pipelines, prospect tracking, strategy, task assignment, and timeline development/enforcement;
  • Serve as day-to-day point person for campaign deadlines and deliverables;
  • Collaborate with senior organizational leadership to plan and execute Campaign Steering Committee meetings;
  • Oversee production of campaign collateral and communications in partnership with the Director of Communications;
  • Lead prospect identification and qualification initiatives; and
  • Oversee donor acknowledgement and recognition process and manage logistics for cultivation events.

 

The Capital Campaign Manager will not directly solicit donors, but will leverage their fundraising expertise, management skills, and collaborative attributes to lead the campaign to a successful and timely conclusion. 

 

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS, and 3-5 years of development experience, preferably with a capital campaign or direct experience with prospect research, donor communications, cultivation, solicitation, and proposal writing. Additional requirements include superb written and verbal communications skills; strong project management skills;  ability to direct and inspire staff and volunteers; and an appreciation for diversity. Driver’s license required. Must be willing to work in a traditional office environment.
