The Assistant Vice President is a senior member of the DAE team reporting to the Senior Vice President. The position is responsible for all information, processing, reporting, and budget systems in support of the university’s comprehensive development and alumni engagement programs including evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future systems. The position supervises 3-5 data professionals; serves as primary DAE liaison to the Institutional Technology department; and, works collaboratively with a wide variety of colleagues and campus partners to ensure effective use of technology and data analytics in support of institutional priorities. This role will manage the Advancement Information Services team in addition to project managing CRM implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure integrity of all DAE data by developing and overseeing policies and procedures for access, input, and retrieval as well as comprehensive end-user training and support.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and institutional protocols to guard data security of TNS constituent data including biographical, financial, and other demographic information; safeguard constituent privacy rights, preferences, and requests for anonymous gifts.
  • Serve as primary strategist for determining how best to meet DAE data and reporting needs. Work with senior peers across campus to consider new systems and appropriate overlays for and integration between existing systems; oversee conversion activities as needed.
  • Oversee, implement and review management controls and development of recurring and special reports and analyses, ensuring such are complete, accurate, timely, and effective tools for measuring progress toward DAE goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the design and configuration of TNS enterprise CRM: identifying, documenting, and translating business requirements and processes to systems specifications in partnership with IT.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance and inventory of all DAE’s systems and platforms including selection and management of affiliated software tools used across DAE; manage associated budgets including purchasing, renewals and expirations.
  • Develop and provide comprehensive and ongoing training and client support to DAE end-users as well as to other campaign partners who require access to and use of constituent data.
  • Supervises, leads and mentors Advancement Operations and Data Services team within DAE recognized for strong customer support, system expertise, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with Institutional Technology colleagues on a variety of projects including conversion activities, enhancement of Data Warehouse to meet departmental and institutional needs, showcasing of technology initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs, and similar activities.
  • Serves as an active participant in a number of DEA and University-wide workgroups aimed at using technology to achieve institutional priorities and data analytics to improve institutional decision making and resource allocation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in quantitative or technical field
  • Expert knowledge of CRM, Salesforce preferred, and/or fundraising databases and affiliated software packages.
  • Experience leveraging Pardot and Salesforce CRM to optimize lead acquisition and nurturing preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fast-paced fundraising or sales environment dependent of technology to accomplish work
  • Prior management and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly professional; detail, deadline and task oriented. Expertise in multitasking.
  • Personal initiative, creativity, and problem solving skills.
