Primary Purpose of the Job:
Partners with the People & Culture leadership team to execute the organization’s people & culture strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention and employee engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage full life cycle recruitment for warehouse and transportation teams (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.).
Develop appropriate marketing strategies, define roles and responsibilities of hiring team, and ensure an effective and efficient recruitment lifecycle while minimizing cost-per-hire. Conducts or acquires background checks, drug testing and employee eligibility verifications.
Manage relationships with all Temporary Staffing agencies ensuring appropriate staffing, minimizing costs and all temp to hire transitions.
Plans, administers and/or oversees various human resources programs as directed, which may include: open enrollment, cross-functional work with payroll, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, engagement activities, training & development, performance reviews etc.
Researches, analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, current program goals and progress
Conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
Act as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to people & culture challenges.
Research, recommend and implement systems to update or automate processes such as HRIS solutions.
Independently and effectively resolves employee questions in a timely manner and addresses concerns from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff. Researches, analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, current program goals and progress.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent
experience;
· At least six years relevant experience
preferred;
-Willingness to travel between three company locations in Manhattan and the Bronx;
· SHRM-CP credential desirable
· Multi lingual skills highly desirable;
· Proficiency in MS Office: strong analytical & quantitative skills;
· Prior experience with HRIS required;
· Solid judgment; able to demonstrate a high standard of personal integrity and business ethics:
· Ability to maintain sensitive & confidential information discretely;
· Flexible, creative, organized and detailed-oriented and proven problem solver;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities;

· Able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and across multi-cultural and generational backgrounds;
· Experience or knowledge of social services/hunger issues a plus;
