We're looking for a Development Manager to deepen our network of philanthropic support for LGBTQ+ tech leaders 
during a period of significant organizational growth.

At Out in Tech, we unite the LGBTQ+ tech community through regular events and volunteer opportunities. We design our experiences around making tech more inclusive and representative of all underestimated groups, especially those historically barred from the world’s most influential careers -- queer, femme/female, trans, Black, Latinx, gender non-conforming, or any intersection thereof.

The Development Manager will primarily grow our foundation and grant relationships, as we aim to transform the tech industry to be more inclusive and representative of all queer and trans people. They’ll have direct access to decision makers in tech and philanthropy, lots of autonomy in our always remote work environment, and a purpose-driven opportunity to build on our track record of organizational growth.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Make data-driven recommendations on how to strengthen our development strategy
  • Partner with ED to grow relationships with existing grant and foundation partners
  • Create and execute against a detailed plan to pursue new grant sources in first 90 days
  • Conduct research, draft proposals, and map development calendar aligned to annual KPIs
  • Represent Out in Tech externally to corporate sponsors, grant partners, and major donors
  • Collaborate with staff, our legendary volunteers, and our 9-person Board of Directors

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience closing six- or seven-figure grants in pursuit of ambitious revenue targets
  • Patience and passion for development; able to share best practices with staff
  • Excellent judgment about how to deploy Executive Director and Board members
  • Inspiring communication skills; tailors messaging to their audience
  • Experience with major gifts or earned income strategy is a plus
  • Familiarity with Slack, Notion, and CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) or desire to learn

Compensation for this role ranges from $60,000-80,000 commensurate with experience, and includes monthly health insurance reimbursement and 401k with 4% employer match.
