SUMMARY

Reporting to the SVP of Development and working in close consultation with the Senior Communications Leader. This position provides support to all aspects of the Office of Development Communication Department. This includes the department's annual magazine, publicity and media relations surrounding hospital's Benefit and other campaign events, collaboration with Campaign/Major Gifts and Annual Fund in support of fundraising goals, and content creation and management of print and digital communications. This position also is responsible for working in consultation with the Senior Vice President on fundraising proposals and letters of inquiry while providing editorial review for all written materials produced by the Office of Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Hospital Benefit and other Events

1 . 1     Work in close consultation with Events to provide publicity and media support for the Annual Benefit. Prepare press releases inclusive of event announcement, honorees announcements, pre-event and post-event coverage. Serve as a media support the day of event.

1 .2      Create content and deploy e-communications, website and social media posts to encourage annual Benefit awareness, engagement and participation.

1.3       In collaboration with Events, produce ongoing content for support collateral: invitation, save the date, points of pride, donor letters, honoree letters and publicity pieces.

1 .4      Help to manage relationships with media sponsors, as well as the maintenance of advertising schedules and media placements.

1 .5      Produce content for the event's journal, including honoree bios and beneficiary information.

1 .6      Prepare and/or edit Run of Show for all department events.

1.7       Coordinate with photographers to record all department events to ensure coverage of key attendees and hospital leadership.

1 .8      Engage in regular strategy sessions with Senior Vice President, Senior Communication Leader and the

leader of Special Events on the organization, design and implementation of the hospital's single largest annual event.

  • Major Gifts & Campaign For Greenwich Hospital
  • 2.1       Work with SVP and Major Gifts team to create communications, collateral, publicity, media releases,

    email communications, social media, website, and hospital communications about major gifts. Assist in the management of post-press release media relations with journalists and GH Staff.

    2 .2      Provide writing support to the Campaign for Greenwich Hospital.

    2.3       Develop written narratives for proposals, letters of inquiries and other communications in support of the SVP's major gift work

    2 .4      Provide editorial review of all written materials, proposals, letters, etc. for the Major Gift team.

  • The Annual Fund for Greenwich Hospital

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    3.1      In collaboration with the Director, Annual Fund for Greenwich Hospital, schedule and produce

    e-solicitations as well as utilize the Office of Development website and social media platforms to drive digital engagement with Annual Fund giving.

  • Magazine, Social Media, Videography, Photography
  • 4.1     Research topics, interview subjects, write articles, collect photographs/organize photo shoots for use in

    multi-channel communications. Help guide publication and collateral design.

    4 .2     Assist with writing, editing, and proofreading the Office of Development Magazine.

    4 .3    Help manage all project timelines and benchmarks

    4.4      Create content for and co-manage the administration for the department's Wordpress website,

    OnlineExpress (OLX) email platform, and social media platforms to optimize engagement, design and functionality. Track key analytics related to these platforms.

    4 .5    Assist with photo and video shoots

    4.6      Maintain department's photo library, video hosting platform, and library of completed marketing

    collateral.

    4.7     Create online donor forms in support of the Annual Fund and other specific causes (i.e. Tribute

    donations)

    4 .8     Provide regular updates to the department's communications calendar

    4.9     Attend quarterly Greenwich Hospital PR meetings, share press releases and pertinent information,

    including sharing of the communications calendar.

    4.10 In collaboration with SVP and Sr. Communication Leader, create content to promote department's strategic goals for placement in Greenwich Hospital communications: Health Extensions, On Call, Medical Staff News

    4 .11 Conduct other special assignments as needed

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field preferred; Masters degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    Ten years’ experience as writer and editor of regularly published periodical or newspaper; knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus; experience with web design and electronic communication; successful experience in video production and magazine and brochure development. Fundraising and campaign experience a plus.

    SPECIAL SKILLS:

    Expertise and understanding of print and digital communication with proficiency in media releases, writing, web site and social media content development, multi-channel marketing and Blackbaud digital content management platforms. Proven track record generating and building relationships, managing projects from concept to completion. Skilled in working with cross-functional teams, consistently demonstrating exceptional communication skills and marketing critical decisions. Adaptable and transformational communicator with an ability to work independently, creating effective presentations and developing opportunities that further establish organizational goals .Outstanding proofreading and editorial skills required.

    Requires creative and analytical thinking to aid in the management and production of compelling web content, email solicitations, publications, collateral materials, videos and general departmental communications. Extremely high degree of organization and oversight of details needed to coordinate internal and external scheduling of projects. Requires the ability to understand the larger picture and long range departmental and Hospital goals.
