Engagement Manager, Americas West

TPW is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our close-knit and entrepreneurial team spread across offices in San Francisco, New York, and London. The Engagement Manager, Americas West will be based in our San Francisco office and will report directly to the Managing Director for Americas West. To enhance member learning and encourage engagement across the TPW community, the Engagement Manager will:

  1. Design and execute learning programs for ultra-high net worth philanthropists and social investors on the West Coast,
  2. Build community among our members and partners,
  3. Provide operational and administrative support.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Design and Execution - The Engagement Manager will design and deliver in-person and virtual regional programs for philanthropists. This work will be conducted in consultation with their manager and the global programs team to ensure alignment with TPW’s core principles and practices. Program execution includes identifying and briefing expert speakers, designing innovative curriculum, co-facilitating programs and events, producing program reference materials, and flawlessly managing all program logistics. The Engagement Manager will be immersed in the emerging trends in the global philanthropy and social impact field and be able to integrate this knowledge into TPW’s programming. Managing relationships with nonprofit organizations and other partners will also feed into developing best-in-class programs.

Member Engagement - The Engagement Manager will interact with members on a regular basis through formal programs, informal gatherings, and regular communications. Programs and member engagement are inextricably linked within TPW’s work, so bringing a member engagement mindset to all program development will be integral to curating a high-touch experience that build connections between members and helps members accelerate their impact in the world. This individual will work closely with the Managing Director for Americas West to execute the overall vision for supporting and growing the impact of the TPW community.

Operations & Administration - The Engagement Manager will provide operational and administrative support to the small San Francisco office. This will include liaising with a limited number of suppliers, maintaining office equipment, and inputting financial data. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for maintaining clean and accurate data entry and working with TPW operational staff to ensure consistent practices and alignment across geographies.

WHO YOU ARE

  • BA/BS degree in a related field [or equivalent experience]
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a program execution role in the philanthropy, non-profit and/or social change field
  • Proven ability to research, design and produce engaging program and event content for a strategic, sophisticated audience where attention to detail in execution is essential
  • Experience with teaching, facilitation, and curriculum design is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to engage with a range of different stakeholders and represent the organization professionally and confidently
  • Experience developing relationships with philanthropists, major donors, or senior executives
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at once, prioritizing, problem-solving, budgeting time and resources appropriately, and working well independently as well as collaboratively
  • Eager to work in an entrepreneurial and nimble environment as a resourceful, flexible team member who can wear as many hats as needed to meet objectives
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and able to quickly learn new tools and technologies; proficiency with Salesforce and/or other databases a plus
  • Willingness to manage office administration, and to do so proactively and efficiently

LOCATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $80,000-$90,000, depending on experience. TPW offers an excellent benefits package including employer-paid health insurance, 401k match, ongoing professional development, and paid leave. We also offer a flexible work environment with a balanced schedule of in-office (potentially 1-2 days/week) and work-at-home time. As 40% of TPW’s members are in the San Francisco Bay Area, the ability to meet in person with members throughout the region is essential.
