The Development Coordinator provides operations and project management for Foundation Relations, working with the Office of Foundation Relations (currently a team of three: Senior Managing Executive Director; Sr. Director, Foundation Relations; and Sr. Director, Foundation Strategy and Operations). The Development Coordinator will organize and plan high level meetings with foundation and RAND leadership, compose briefings/reports, facilitate follow-up and continued engagement, and maintain accurate internal records. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Foundation Relations and interacts with RAND leadership, donors, researchers and staff, and requires a superb and detail-orientated approach to collaboration, proactive workstyle and growth mindset. The successful candidate will be focused and goal-oriented with a high level of initiative, organizational skills, communication skills, intellectual curiosity and interest in the field of development.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains and analyzes the year-over-year grant tracker on a quarterly basis and creates opportunity assessments 

  •  Conducts foundation prospect research, list management, and uses subscription and search tools to maintain foundation intelligence 

  • Maintains and improves the foundation relations internal filing, materials repository, and foundation directory 

  • Manages the Foundation Relations calendar, and leads office scheduling, including internal and external meetings, prep materials development, meeting agenda and minutes, and  follow-up

  • Liaises with advancement services to ensure foundations are appropriately represented on department-wide initiatives with correct protocols followed 

  • Updates and maintains integrity of Salesforce database for foundations; pulls Salesforce reports and provides data analysis of progress

  • Coordinate with the broader Development team on shared administrative goals and projects

  • Assists in writing and designing materials and presentations for foundation meetings 

  • Other support and administrative duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially excel, Teams, and Powerpoint, experience working in a CRM database, experience with Salesforce preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment as well as collaboratively across the department

  • Experience with budget tracking, and report management 

  • Previous experience managing projects with a proven track record of successful completion

 

Education Requirements

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Experience

3-5 years of relevant experience required
