The University of Chattanooga Foundation seeks to fill the position of Associate Director of Development, Corporate Relations for the UT Chattanooga. Offering 88 undergraduate and 52 graduate degree programs, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga operates with the belief that students are the reason UTC exists. The Associate Director will build relationships to generate financial support for UT Chattanooga campus-wide through the discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. The Associate Director is charged with developing an overall strategy and execution plan to secure funding from corporate sources and philanthropic foundations to support the strategic priorities of the UT Chattanooga campus. The Associate Director will collaborate with key campus partners, including deans, faculty, program directors, the Center for Career and Leadership Development, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, and other campus stakeholders to identify programs and projects to foster innovative community relationships.

Breakdown of percentage of job responsibilities listed below.

Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards corporate and foundation prospects through peer referencing and prospect research.  Attains individually-measured goals for substantive visits (local, regional and national), proposals delivered and funded, and dollars raised (70%)

Attends and assists with donor receptions and other department functions which will include nights and weekends. (15%)

Meets regularly with Deans, Department Heads and key Faculty/Staff as assigned to initiate and review their specific fundraising strategies. (10%)

Other duties as assigned related to fundraising initiatives and advancement functions. (5%)

Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred.   A minimum of 2 years of experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UC Foundation reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances.  In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Experience in development, marketing, or sales related field is required. The ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally is required. Experience with higher education, healthcare or nonprofit fundraising is preferred.

 

Skills:  Excellent computer, verbal and written communication, and demonstrated organizational skills necessary. In addition, the position involves the need to be able to work independently, build relationships, and solicit gifts.
