MoveOn is a diverse and vibrant community of millions of people who work together to create progressive change in America. We are an innovative campaigning organization that supports people throughout the country to take action through driving impactful campaigns that influence the behavior of people and institutions, shape the outcomes of elections, and expand the realities of what’s possible. We organize to challenge entrenched power, while pursuing economic, racial, and social justice and a vision of a country in which everyone can thrive.

MoveOn has a particularly important role to play in the 2022 Midterm Election. We are working to hold our Senate and House majorities by building a powerful, multiracial, and economic populist movement that will sell the wins, and give voters a reason to turn out for Democrats. In service of that mission, in 2022 and beyond, MoveOn will drive impactful, movement-connected, multichannel, nimble campaigns aimed at impact.

Power Up The Vote is a movement of people across the country organizing their friends, family, colleagues, classmates, and community members to get out and vote in November. By encouraging volunteers and members to engage the people they know, we can maintain our majority, and expand important seats of power, while protecting our Democracy, in particularly important Governor and Secretary of State races.

Our strategy is to build a community of dedicated voters who multiply their voter power by supporting and encouraging MoveOn members and volunteers to triple their vote. In 2020, more than 100,000 people stepped up to triple their vote and defeat Donald Trump. This is a strategy that works, and we know we can do it again.

Volunteers across the country will connect with MoveOn members and leaders to renew their vote-tripling pledges, and will meet voters at the polls during early voting and on Election Day for on the spot vote tripling!

MoveOn is looking for 15 Electoral Fellows who will be responsible for empowering the MoveOn Volunteer Network to recruit and support vote triplets via phone banking and in-person Polling Place Vote Tripling. Fellows will manage local volunteer teams, lead both in-person and digital trainings, and foster a vibrant on the ground volunteer community. Electoral fellows will spend a lot of time developing top volunteer leaders, facilitating team calls, and training volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and coaching to support Polling Place Vote Triplers and Phone Banking Volunteers
  • Provide ongoing updates, frequent team calls, report results and recognize “super” volunteers
  • Lead the shift schedule by sending reminders to volunteers before shifts and making debrief calls after shifts
  • Organize and lead State Team calls to meet Polling Place Vote Tripling and Phone Banking progress goals
  • Execute distributed mobilizations, such as in-person trainings
  • Move volunteers up a ladder of engagement, and cultivate opportunities to find an organizing home with MoveOn

Note on schedule: This position will regularly need to work afternoon and evening hours depending on location (schedule on certain days will be 10AM - 6PM Pacific / 1 PM - 9PM Eastern)

  • Timely, hardworking, low-ego leader, ready to work sometimes long hours in a fast-paced environment to get the job done
  • Able to convey a professional tone to volunteers, supporters, voters, and fellow staffers. You’re highly organized, goal-driven, results-oriented, and course-correcting
  • Comfort using digital organizing tools and working in a virtual office environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • A genuine commitment to progressive values, organizing, and empowering MoveOn members to take leadership
