The school is seeking an experienced Events and Donor Relations Director to join the Advancement Department which is dedicated to annual and major gift philanthropy, alumni engagement, foundation relations and partnerships, fundraising and community events, and data services. This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement and is responsible for leading high-performing fundraising and schoolwide events and ensuring our donors are having the best possible experience. 

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/year

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage in collaboration with volunteers and staff the annual auction to ensure goals are met
    • Recruit, manage and steward the auction volunteer team. Ensure that volunteers are clear on their duties, and that they feel well-supported and deeply appreciated
    • Facilitate and manage the auction procurement process with a team of dedicated volunteers
    • Oversee production of Auction’s “Special Appeal” including theme/messaging and delivery vehicle (video, student performers, speaker, etc.)
    • In collaboration with staff, ensure auction sponsorship, ad sales, and paddle raise goals are met in a timely manner
    • Manage the auction database, Greater Giving, and provide direction to staff and volunteer(s) on data entry and best practices. Track committee solicitors, donors, items, and attendees
    • Manage guest registration, assigned table seating and bidder numbers, track sales and tickets
  • Collaborate with the Parent Faculty Association and departments across campus to provide parent and donor relations support and implement events, activities, and programs, all with a goal of improving the parent and donor experience in all divisions
  • Plan and coordinate multiple campaign events to engage high-capacity donors and prospects
  • Plan and coordinate a few significant schoolwide events, such as commencement
  • Organize several smaller fundraising and cultivation/stewardship events throughout the year
  • Manage event staff including recruiting, hiring and timely feedback and evaluation
  • Track volunteerism school-wide
  • Market events and produce collateral in collaboration with the Advancement team
  • Work closely with advancement services team to ensure accurate and efficient recording of pledges
  • Participate in all related meetings and events, which may occur in the evenings and/or on weekends
  • Make occasional event announcements/presentations at staff and/or parent meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Five years’ experience in managing fundraising events, with an emphasis on auctions
  • Three years’ experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Adept at managing relationships and cultivating a wide range of donors, volunteers, internal and external constituents
  • Able to work flexible hours, including several evenings and weekends, as required. Some events are outdoors
