Position Description:
The Development Associate is responsible for supporting all
fundraising and communications initiatives at the Foundation. They
will report to the Director of Communications and Development in
support of activities across the organization, including
maintenance and updates of donor database and tracking logs,
coordination and stewardship for individual and corporate giving,
and general contribution toward growth and strategy of fundraising
activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain the accuracy and integrity of Little Green Light [LGL] database and department tracking tools by ensuring that all information is kept current and up to date
· Facilitate prospect research, including foundation and corporate giving opportunities
· Develop/maintain grants calendar for the organization and lead efforts to successfully meet submission deadlines
· Support the Director in all required reporting to funders
· With support from the Director and CEO, write grant requests and proposals for both new and ongoing programs
· Assist with digital and written communications as they pertain to donors, including constituent outreach and engagement, such as the acknowledgment letters, fundraising appeals, and email correspondence
· With the help of the Director, maintain key performance indicator (KPI) information for the CEO, board of directors and grant reporting
· Plan or assist with special fundraising events, including administrative details, guest lists and stewardship planning
· Provide support to other communication efforts (social media, mailing, web) utilizing brand guidelines and available templates.
· Perform basic administrative duties in a small office setting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field
· 2-5 years (or similar experience) in the field of nonprofit fundraising, communications, or development
· Comfortability with Little Green Light or other donor databases and prospecting tools
· Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment with attention to detail and accuracy
· Outstanding written and oral communication skills
· Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
· Enthusiastic about our mission
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to volunteers, donors, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
· Periodic travel may be required
