Associate Director of Development

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for discovering, cultivating, soliciting and closing gifts of $50,000 – $1M+ and developing a strong portfolio of approximately 100 prospects. This development professional is expected to quickly gain and present an expansive knowledge of the Division of Student Affairs and the University of Maryland. The Associate Director will develop and implement major gift strategies in consultation with the Director of Development for Student Affairs as well as other Division of Student Affairs and University Relations colleagues. The Associate Director will also liaise with the Assistant Vice President for Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs.

Bachelor’s Degree required and at least 5 years of experience related to development or fundraising work. A proven record of working effectively initiating and building relationships with prospects and donors is required.

The chosen candidate must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five to six-figure range. Candidates must have the ability to work collaboratively and strategically with other fundraising professionals, volunteers, and campus leaders.
