POSITION DETAILS
The Director of Digital Marketing and Content Strategy reports to the AVP for Marketing and Communications provides strategic direction for video and photography projects to enhance college marketing efforts and oversees the team that produces content and copy for marketing materials including social media channels, alumni magazine, e-newsletters, admissions, and fundraising campaigns.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Leads the college’s marketing efforts for admissions and advancement including advertising campaigns, social media, copywriting for all materials and platforms, as well as editorial and multimedia content development for the purposes of engaging priority audiences.
- Develops a digital-first marketing strategy to promote academic programs at the college in collaboration with admissions team and academic leadership ensuring that plans align with the college’s approved enrollment goals.
- Collaborates with digital design and production team on marketing concepts and provides/oversees all marketing copy for campaigns ensuring that it aligns with brand strategy and messaging developed for the college and each of its schools.
- Develops robust social media strategy, plan, and guidelines for the college accounts driven by marketing goals and focusing on high-impact platforms and content.
- Oversees all communications with prospective students + current students + alumni to ensure quality, brand alignment, as well as streamlined and consistent information.
- Provides advertising strategy and media buying oversight working with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with enrollment goals as well as campaign analytics and reporting.
- Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness and produces regular reports on marketing performance with prospective student and alumni + donor audiences.
- Provides overall strategic direction to content producers ensuring that tools and tactics are on message, on schedule, within budget, and are effective at meeting college marketing goals.
- Hires and supervises full-time and part-time staff, student employees, and interns as needed providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Collaborates with digital design and production team on long-term multimedia asset management plan.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eight years of relevant professional experience in a marketing capacity, as well as, 5+ years of staff management experience.
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms for business required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; diplomatic attitude; and strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit institutions preferred.

- Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns
