The Community Engagement Manager will lead the volunteer and
in-kind donation activities for the organization. This position is
also responsible for the management of the Energy Assistance
Program and the Development Department Intern Program. Areas of
primary responsibility include the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive,
the annual Holiday Toy Drive, all drive distribution activities,
volunteer management, corporate service days/corporate employee
engagement activities, in-kind donations, the annual Energy
Assistance Program distribution of funds and managing the
department’s interns. The Community Engagement Manager will be an
integral member of the Development team and carries responsibility
for meeting the relevant corporate revenue targets. Reportability
This position will report directly to the Director of
Corporate Partnerships.
This position will manage/supervise a team of Development
Department Interns. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. Volunteer Management
Responsible for the development
and implementation of an effective and rewarding volunteer program.
This includes managing, monitoring, and maintaining Mary’s Center
(MC) volunteer program for both reoccurring and one-time projects;
both in-person and virtual projects.
Oversee recruitment,
onboarding/orientation, placement, and communications relating to
volunteers.
Responsible for targeted recruitment,
scheduling, retention, management and stewardship of partner
organizations/companies and community groups for purposes of
employee engagement/corporate service days (CSD) projects. This
includes presenting to prospective partners and encouraging
partnership with Mary’s Center; actively solicit CSD
sponsorships.
Ensure recognition of key volunteers
using communication tools such as our monthly e-News and/or sending
e-communication directly to all volunteers, submitting nominations
for local awards and spotlighting supporters during National
Volunteer Month.
Implement volunteer policies
and procedures. Ensure that all volunteers receive adequate
orientation and training.
Maintain communication with staff
about volunteer schedules and volunteer conduct. Ensure a
welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for all
volunteers.
Keep Raiser’s Edge up to date with
volunteer contact information and track donated hours of service;
report statistics monthly as needed and appropriate. Provide
acknowledgements to volunteers as needed.
Work alongside Individual Giving Team
to introduce volunteers to becoming donors of the
organization.
Intern Program
Promote, recruit, and hire for the
Development Department’s interns.
Supervise the Development Department
interns, managing their workflow and ensuring a successful intern
experience.
In-Kind donations
Manage and collect all in-kind
donations to Mary’s Center. Provide timely acknowledgement of
donations to in-kind donors. Provide quarterly in-kind donation
reports.
Work with MC program staff/site
managers to coordinate acceptance/delivery of in-kind
donations.
Create seasonal in-kind drives;
promote the donation drives on the MC website and via our
Development communications such as the Intranet, MC website and
monthly eNews; share drive opportunities with corporate
partners.
Thanksgiving Drive, Toy Drive,
and other collection drives
Solicit and secure new sources of
sponsorship funding for donation drives, including but not limited
to year end drives.
Plan/implement all donation drives,
including but not limited to Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Toy
Drive; solicit all drive partners for both in-kind and financial
donations; create necessary collateral; coordinate logistics of
collecting and distributing all donations; and oversee all
communications to internal and external audiences.
Coordinate and collaborate with
Mary’s Center Programs department to secure recipient families and
execute distribution.
Solicit in-kind donations and steward
supporters to collect year-round; prepare recap reports and
identify opportunities to grow donations year over year.
Engage volunteers to assist in
sorting and preparing donations.
Corporate Fundraising and
Stewardship
Develop new and deepen existing
relationships with corporate Employee Resource Groups (ERGs),
serving as a pipeline for volunteers and donors to MC.
Represent Mary’s Center at community
events to assist in securing new corporate partnerships.
Steward corporate sponsors throughout
the year.
Manage incoming requests for the
corporate skills-based volunteer program.
Misc. Development
Manage budget for the volunteer
program, Corporate Service Days, and in-kind collection
drives.
Oversee the cleanliness and
organization of donation storage, distribution spaces and
development storage.
Serve as a Development team member
and provide support as necessary on functions performed by the
Development team.
Responsible for ensuring the
Volunteer and Events sections of the website are always up to
date.
Other duties as assigned.
