Director of Advancement Financial Services (Senior Staff Associate, SL5) SUNY Cortland   SUNY Cortland seeks director of Advancement Financial Services.  This full-time professional administrator position is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting for the Cortland College Foundation (CCF), CCF Properties, Inc., and the Alumni Association. The director is responsible for preparation of financial statements, maintaining general ledger account analysis and performing financial reporting using Financial Edge; maintenance of investment accounts and related restricted fund balances; preparing the CCF annual budget to include development of an annual spending calculation and ensuring adherence to state legislation – NYPMIFA; audit oversight and annual reporting to outside entities to include SUNY System Administration, CAE/VSE, NACUBO, etc.; management, review and monitoring of the charitable gift annuity program including coordinating quarterly distributions, preparing annual state filings, and preparing state registrations as needed; perform cash flow analysis and maintenance of electronic funds transfer processes, as well as maintenance of all banking, brokerage, and credit account relationships; responsible for cash receipts and accounts payable and associated internal controls; responsible for overseeing the gift processing operations, preparation of annual state charitable gift solicitation registrations, and will provide support to the CCF Finance and Audit Committee.   Job Requirements: The director of Advancement Financial Services should have effective leadership and supervisory skills to supervise and lead a team including four full-time employees; effective communication skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing; effective interpersonal skills to build, develop and maintain collaborative working relationships; and effectively prioritize, establish tasks and goals to manage and complete multiple projects with critical deadlines.   Required (minimum) qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, several years of progressive experience in managing budget, financial and accounting operations to include knowledge of GAAP, preparation of financial statement, and supervisory experience.   Preferred qualifications: CPA or Master’s in Accountancy, experience with financial services in higher education environment, experience working effectively with a Board of Directors, and knowledge of Financial Edge/NXT advancement database software.   SUNY Cortland is a comprehensive college within the State University of New York system and is known for its superb programs in speech-language pathology, teacher education, recreation, parks and leisure studies, health, physical education, and a number of leading liberal arts programs in the natural and social sciences as well as the arts and humanities.
