Are you an innovative thought partner with experience in project management?  Come join the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), the global leader in standards development, accreditation, and implementation of quality systems in transfusion medicine and cellular therapies.  AABB is seeking a Foundation Manager to serve as a key member of their team.  AABB's National Blood Foundation (NBF) serves the fields of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies through grant making, educational offerings, and industry leadership engagement and recognition. Reporting to the Foundation Director, this role is an excellent opportunity to use ideas and energy to improve the health and safety of blood donors and patients world-wide.  This full-time, remote opportunity, requiring occasional visits to the office in Bethesda, MD.  AABB offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.  AABB requires all employees and new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a reasonable accommodation is requested and approved.

As the Foundation Manager, you will connect regularly with blood and biotherapies industry executives, board members, financial contributors, and volunteers to support efforts to establish long term partnerships, strengthen existing relationships, and initiate new contacts to grow and establish the Foundation as a key industry resource.  The Foundation Manager is responsible for several key efforts, including the scientific recognition award programs and the Association’s memorial awards.  This position also assists in the development of fundraising and donor engagement strategies and manages gift processing, financials, charitable giving, constituent reporting, data management, and overall administrative support for Foundation activities.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of professional and project management experience with a bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of five years of experience in lieu of degree.  This position requires experience with long-term, cyclical multi-project management and knowledge of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques.  AABB is seeking a resourceful, ingenious professional with knowledge of development systems and experience coordinating development-related processes.  Association, non-profit, foundation, or for-profit charitable giving experience is preferred.

AABB is the global leader in standards development, accreditation, and implementation of quality systems in transfusion medicine and cellular therapies.  Their vision is to make transfusion medicine and cellular therapies safe, available, and effective worldwide.  AABB brings together those engaged in transfusion medicine and cellular therapies.  The organization creates a unique learning environment, including our signature Annual Meeting, that inspires and enables research, innovation, discovery, and excellence.

AABB's National Blood Foundation (NBF), established in 1983, serves the fields of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies through grant making, educational offerings, and industry leadership engagement and recognition.  NBF encourages innovation through early-career scientific research grants that supplement AABB's mission to further develop transfusion medicine, cellular therapies and regenerative medicine science.  For almost forty years, the NBF's early-career grant program has funded more than 200 investigators – many of whom are now subject matter experts and leaders in the field.
