Since 1981, Brighton Marine has been a vital social service resource to the Allston-Brighton community and to its veterans. In addition to partners located on its campus, Brighton Marine has extended its support and partnerships to multiple organizations in the City of Boston throughout the years. Whether it is assisting the effort to end veteran homelessness, empowering local youth, or improving the cityscape of Brighton, Brighton Marine’s efforts have earned it a reputation as a strong community presence and trusted partner in social services.

Those services include US Family Health Plan: the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan (USFHP). USFHP is a TRICARE Prime military health plan sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD) that provides comprehensive care for military and retiree families. Residences at Brighton Marine: Brighton Marine, working with a private real estate development company, recently completed a $46-million initiative that created 102 units of Section 8 housing in Boston with preference to veterans of all income levels. Housing for Previously Homeless Veterans:  Brighton Marine’s commitment to veteran wellbeing is amply reflected by its investment of $6.5 million in repurposing a campus building into 25 studio apartments for previously homeless veterans. The Brighton Marine Campus: In addition to the housing, there is over 100,000 square feet of rental space allocated to medical clinics, healthcare administration, social and psychological services, and veterans’ groups. Homeless Veterans’ Endowment Fund: In August 2015, Brighton Marine established an endowment fund to assist in ending veteran homelessness. Arthur Berg Leadership Scholarship: In 2012, Brighton Marine established the Arthur Berg Leadership Scholarship, a $5,000 annual college stipend named after the former director of the facilities department.Allston Brighton Support Fund: As part of its community impact grantmaking, Brighton Marine has partnered with Clear Channel on a 10-year program to support local non-profits in the Allston Brighton neighborhood.
