Overview

This position's primary responsibility is to effectively oversee and ensure the integrity of donor, staff, volunteer, and prospective donor information in the Raiser's Edge database and to prepare reports and communications utilizing that information. Applies extensive knowledge of business application management, specifically related to Raiser's Edge.


Raiser's Edge

  • Provide lead direction, training, and work review associated with the maintenance and enhancement of all donor, prospect, and other constituent records using Raiser's Edge. Monitor and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all data; perform imports, exports, and global updates: manage segmentation attributes and other data coding. Maintain best practices in gift processing and data management.
  • Create funds, campaigns, and appeals in line with the organization's structure and the Finance Department coding system. Manage and produce high-level gift reports, action reports, prospect reports, and mailing lists.
  • Supervise gift/constituent entry done by other staff members
  • Create and manage department dashboards for analysis, tracking metrics, fundraising, and financial reporting
  • Develop and execute complex criteria queries and reports based on the needs of the Getty Development Team supporting direct mail (Patron, Getty Fund, Council, Founder's Society), major donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, and special events programs
  • Ensure that all campaigns, funds, and appeals are linked correctly between the accounting software and Raiser's Edge
  • Ensure accuracy of constituent information by performing periodic auditing and cleanup of data and performing a yearly NCOA
  • Support development, maintenance, and upgrading of RE and related applications through needs analysis, defining requirements, and functional testing
  • Create and periodically update system and procedural documentation related to RE and RE NXT
  • Manage business application vendor relationships
  • Ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Work directly with Development staff to create accurate lists, gift reports for various campaigns, honor roll listings, etc.


Revenue Reconciliation

  • Work closely with the Finance staff to provide reports and documentation for financial reconciliation and accuracy between the accounting database and Raiser's Edge
  • Reconcile and close monthly development financials on time
  • Oversee the input of donor listings included in the annual Form 990 tax return
  • Process, or oversee the processing of, all department gifts, pledges, and invoices
  • Manage credit card gift processing and documentation


Other

  • Serve as an active member of the Development team, contributing to goal setting and the refinement of processes and procedures
  • Supervises two direct reports: Database Services Manager and Project Administrator
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8-10 years business applications experience, specifically Blackbaud/The Raiser's Edge as an administrator and at the expert level (bCRE)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Staff management and proven project management experience, preferably in an arts, cultural, or educational institution
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud hosted databases and Raiser's Edge NXT required
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge Imports and/or ImportOmatic product a plus
  • Ability to understand internal business processes and how they relate to functionality within Raiser's Edge and database best practices
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Business Intelligence programs helpful
  • Solid and demonstrable skill and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Enjoy group work but also possess the ability to work independently

  • Excellent people skills and ability to partner with diverse leadership teams
