Manager, Corporate Partnerships

OutRight Action International works at global, regional and national levels to eradicate the persecution, inequality and violence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) people around the world. With staff in over 10 countries and headquarters in New York, OutRight builds capacity of LGBTIQ movements, documents human rights violations, advocates for inclusion and equality, and holds leaders accountable for protecting the rights of LGBTIQ people everywhere. OutRight has recognized consultative status at the United Nations.

OutRight currently seeks a Manager, Corporate Partnerships, responsible for cultivating, securing, stewarding, and retaining high-visibility corporate relationships and gifts, particularly through programmatic support, cause-related marketing, event sponsorship, workplace giving, and employee engagement initiatives. The Manager will be responsible for implementing and sustaining OutRight’s corporate portfolio and will take the lead on outreach efforts including prospecting, proposal development, speaking engagements and developing online collateral and communications on private sector engagement. They will represent OutRight in a variety of situations including working with OutRight’s Director of Development, the Development team, the Communications team, and select Program staff; additionally, the Manager will represent OutRight in a variety of conversations, meetings and events including with corporate C-suite executives and senior staff from across departments including DEI, CSR, HR, and ERGs.

The Manager reports to and works closely with the Director of Development and may be responsible for managing an Associate level staff, and/or interns, as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of a corporate donor portfolio; including the following activities:

  • Manages a stable of existing corporate partnerships, focusing on strategy, stewardship and retention; activations can include cause-marketing, special events, presentations, workplace giving, and/or employee volunteering
  • Identifies and interfaces with prospective corporate donors to maintain or increase the number of OutRight’s partners, and corporate revenue
  • Develops briefings, presentations, and customized collateral for existing and prospective partners
  • Works with staff across the organization to coordinate engagement opportunities for corporate partners

 

Corporate Grant Management:

  • Develops, coordinates, and submits proposals, as needed
  • Tracks and monitors reporting deadlines of projects associated with accounts in portfolio
  • Tracks and implements partnership benefits, including timing of renewal request cycles
  • Develops and edits donor reports, coordinating with Program and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting

 

Processes and Administration:

  • Works closely with the Director of Development to set and implement annual goals, strategies, milestones, and timeline for reaching ambitious corporate partnerships goals and strategy
  • Manages protocols, including accounts management, pledge tracking, gift processing, revenue tracking, invoicing, and gift receipts/acknowledgments
  • Manages special initiatives and events, as assigned, including securing corporate engagement in OutRight’s annual Gala and Pride campaign

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in corporate relations role, sales, cause marketing, philanthropy, or related field
  • An understanding and commitment to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) human rights in a global context
  • Excellent writing, research, editing, and communication skills
  • Great networking, sales, and business development skills
  • An understanding of human rights, LGBTIQ, ESG, DEI, CSR, NGO-corporate partnerships, and employee engagement programs
  • Event sponsorship and special events experience
  • Track record of problem-solving, partner negotiation, and securing gifts in the $5,000 to $100,000 range
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration, with an ability to work independently and make sound decisions to execute goals
  • Strong knowledge of the multinational corporate sector
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple, competing deadlines
  • Ethical and principled decision making
  • Enjoys creativity and learning new ways of doing things to remain fresh and up to date on industry trends
