Who we want:

We are searching for an experienced leader with a track record of success to serve as the next Director of Advancement Services.

As we build-out our Development and Advancement Services team, we are searching for a highly collaborative leader to manage and enhance our existing Advancement Services team. You're analytical, enthusiastic, and love to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. You collaborate often and know how to build consensus and trust.

We're searching for a partner who is excited to share in the responsibility and success for achieving University fundraising and engagement goals - someone who not only understands just how crucial advancement services is to the success of our division but also is passionate about positively influencing the effective development and management of institutional relationships.

Essential Functions
What you'll do:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Services, you will help oversee the activities of the Gift Processing, Information Systems, and Research and Prospect Development Units. You'll work proactively to improve our alumni and donor experience, increase efficiency, and reduce organizational risk by collaborating with the entire IA Division, including the Development and Alumni and Donor Engagement teams.

With a commitment to best practices, you will ensure compliance with UT System and UTEP Policies, IRS regulations, federal and state laws, Donor Bill of Rights, CASE standards for reporting and gift acceptance, APRA, and other industry guidelines and standards. Using these industry standards, you will work collaboratively to continuously improve our policies and procedures. You'll review and update reports and dashboards to provide transparency of engagement and fundraising activity. You will use your creativity to enhance our operational effectiveness and will continuously iterate to improve our processes.

And as a manager, you will build trust with your team through authenticity, shared vision, and transparency. You'll be expected to invest time and energy in growing your team professionally and personally, to care deeply and challenge directly, and foster a team culture that relentlessly pursues excellence while also caring deeply about the human behind the job

Required Qualifications
What you'll need to be successful:

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Five years of advancement services related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years management experience
- Demonstrated skill in developing queries, reports, dashboards and understanding the importance and mechanics of data segmentation.
- Knowledge of current advancement technology, tools, applications, and systems, including but not limited to, CRM, online giving, event management, communication, and stewardship systems
- Tenacious optimism and a goal-oriented, growth mindset; the ability to remain flexible and develop creative solutions in pursuit of always maintaining forward momentum
- Capacity to multitask and continually balance competing priorities within a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a small team with limited resources, supporting the success of all colleagues and prioritizing the UTEP's overall goals above personal achievement

Preferred Qualifications
It'd be nice if you had:

- Advanced degree
- Proficient experience with Raiser's Edge/NXT and/or other advancement CRM software
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Experience in SQL or MsSQL
