Initiate and implement gift planning strategies targeting principal
level donors to secure philanthropic gifts of $1M or more. Provide
leadership in the development of a collaborative team approach for
engagement, solicitation and stewardship of principal gift level
prospects and donors. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Project Management:
Implement, coordinate, and execute principal gift
projects/initiatives. Collaborate with staff including Prospect
Research, Marketing & Communications, Development Officers,
Central Donor Relations, Advancement Services, Alumni Engagement,
External Communications and Executive Leadership to provide
reporting and analytics on principal gift pipeline, stewardship and
tracking of various fundraising opportunities.
30% - Essential - Strategic Planning:
Develop strategic plans to align donor interests with University
initiative and priorities. Maintain knowledge of donor investments
and the University's strategic plan for excellence. Facilitate
strategy sessions for creation and dissemination of donor
communications. Collect and analyze data from multiple internal and
external sources (e.g. higher educational institutions), as
needed.
20% - Essential - Proposal Writing/Presentation
Preparation:
Plan, create and implement creative communications supporting
principal level fundraising goals and objectives. Collaborate with
partners to create and prepare comprehensive proposals and gift
presentations for principal gift reports. Research, compose and
edit gift opportunities. Proficient in desktop publishing software,
e.g. Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint.
20% - Essential - Engagement:
Serve as point of contact for Principal Gifts team to manage
reports, special events, marketing and donor engagement. Partners
with Senior Associate Vice President of Development to collaborate
with Development Officers and senior leadership to design and
implement specialized engagement through cultivation, solicitation
and stewardship of prospects/donors in the principal gift
portfolio.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 5+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree in Higher Education
