The Donor Relations Writer is a key member of ADL’s fast-paced
national development team. Major responsibilities include writing,
editing, and managing the creation of compelling materials for
donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, ensuring that
donors receive professional and timely information regarding the
impact of their philanthropy.
- Collaborate and partner across the organization in the pursuit
of fundraising excellence and to achieve ADL’s overall fundraising
- Maintain a thorough understanding of ADL programs and
priorities and understand how they advance ADL’s mission.
- Support development of major gift proposals and participate in
select strategy meetings.
- Research and write comprehensive impact reports for ADL’s top
donors including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Collaborate with development officers to prepare high level
donor correspondence, quarterly updates, and crisis
- Develop a set of annual templates using fresh and innovative
copy for standard donor communications including acknowledgements,
celebration of life cycle events, career achievements, and
- Edit and re-write donor communications and other materials
generated by ADL’s national development staff as needed.
- Skillful writer and editor with the ability to deftly distill
complex material for target audiences in a multitude of

including acknowledgments, reports and proposals.
- Ability to collaborate with staff and senior leadership,
respond to multiple points of view, find consensus, and effectively
communicate the organization’s vision.
- Graduate of accredited four-year college with a degree in
Journalism, Communications, or related discipline or equivalent

note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and
reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a
location-based compensation structure, there may be a different
