The Office of Development at Messiah University has an opening for a full-time Director of Annual Giving & Donor Communication.

 

Responsibilities:  The Director of Annual Giving & Donor Communication directs the fundraising strategy for securing annual giving support which includes responsibility for donor appeals, donor relations, donor reporting and other donor communication. Annual Giving is focused on securing and retaining budget relieving annual gifts from donors (e.g., the Messiah Fund) as well as securing and retaining annual donor gifts regardless of the designation (e.g., special projects, Giving Day, etc.).

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in development, marketing, sales or related experience or combination of education and experience required; Master’s degree and development and annual fund experience in higher education preferred.

 

Skills and Characteristics: Expert understanding of Annual Giving and the ability to develop a strong case for giving to Messiah; highly polished oral and written communication skills; ability to develop strategic action plans to achieve goals related to giving, retention, and stewardship; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to understand needs and priorities of the entire Development Office while simultaneously advocating for the importance of Annual Giving priorities, such as the Messiah Fund, operating gifts, missions, and athletics; highly motivated to achieve fundraising goals; ability to develop and implement new programs.
