Department: Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Annual Giving Officer, Membership in the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving department.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer, Membership, seeks to increase participation and retention in alumni and annual giving programs. Working closely with the Senior Director for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer, Membership will implement strategies that foster the engagement of President's Society and Loyalty Society members, to meet alumni donor participation and revenue goals. As a primary responsibility, the Annual Giving Officer, Membership will oversee the President's Society and Loyalty Society annual giving programs, including but not limited to the development and execution of a multi-channel solicitation plan for donors at the $1-$4,999 level and strategies for donor retention and upgrade. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a high level of creativity and determination to meet and exceed goals.

Bachelor's degree

Required Skills or Software:
Basic Knowledge of MS Word 2016, Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Years of Experience: 2

Other Requirements:
Understanding of fundraising programs and the principles and practices of a development operation, including two years of proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts at the annual giving level. Proven experience analyzing and working with large data sets.

A high level of determination to meet and exceed fundraising goals. Adaptable, analytical, and innovative thinker who can work both strategically as well as in a hands-on/executional capacity.Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible.

Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects. Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple university constituencies and develop rapport with donors, alumni, parents, and other community members. Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone, combined with collaborative style.


Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or other constituent relationship management database.
