Role/Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer for Catholic Health, create and execute a strategy for growing philanthropic revenue to support St. Catherine of Siena’s comprehensive campaign goals.  Together, the CDO and Executive Director will develop annual fundraising goals appropriate to the strategic needs of St. Catherine and in line with the objectives of the comprehensive fundraising campaign for that campus
  • Partner with the Hospital President (and the Catholic Health CEO, where appropriate) to schedule and complete a minimum of 15 major gift solicitations annually in support of campaign priorities at St. Catherine of Siena
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 100 individual donors capable of making a gift of $100,000 or more. Through personal interactions, guide the process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, communication and stewardship of donors to meet fundraising goals
  • Partner with the Executive Director of Private Foundation Relations and the Executive Director of Planned Giving to create specific strategies that will drive private foundation giving as well as planned giving commitments to St. Catherine of Siena’s campaign priorities
  • Meet regularly with assigned physician partners to discuss new grateful patient prospects and hone insights into the clinical strengths of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center
  • Plan and host 3-4 Foundation Board meetings each calendar year.  Manage relationships with all Board members and communicate key initiatives to the Board as necessary
  • Partner with the AVP for Donor Engagement and Digital Fundraising Strategy to create an annual plan for direct mail appeals, email appeals and social media fundraising to achieve annual fund goals for St. Catherine
  • Prepare accurate and compelling proposals, communications and stewardship reports   
  • Oversee and manage a Development Associate who will have primary responsibility for organizing and running the annual St. Catherine of Siena golf outing as well as other fundraising events as may take place throughout the year
  • Enter all donor portfolio activity and communications in the donor database (RE NXT) in a timely manner to ensure data is accurate and current
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the hospital's programs and capital priorities to articulate funding needs to donors

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of communications/marketing/journalism/business or related area.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of philanthropy experience with demonstrated track record in the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in medical fundraising.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge and NXT
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends for donor meetings and special events.
