The Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM)—the oldest and
largest of Smithsonian art museums—seeks a creative and energetic
relationship builder with a demonstrated record of success with
foundation and corporate fundraising to join a diverse, collegial,
and successful advancement team that is responsible for raising
support from individuals, foundations, and corporations and
generating revenue through special event rentals. SAAM duties
include identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporate and
foundation prospects; creating compelling and persuasive proposals;
managing stewardship of institutional donors; and preparing other
Progressive frontline fundraising experience with a track record
of achieving revenue targets required. The ability to meet frequent
deadlines with great attention to detail and work collaboratively
is essential to success. Arts and humanities knowledge and
experience at a major cultural organization desired.
