Job Description

Mizzou Advancement is constantly looking for talented, driven individuals to help us in supporting the university we love and providing opportunities for Missourians and beyond.

As our Recruiter, you’ll be spearheading that effort; we’ll be counting on you to help us recruit, retain and interview candidates from around the country and world to find people that embody our core values of passion, engagement and teamwork.

Successful candidates will:

  • Work alongside the UM System Recruitment Center of Expertise (COE) to develop a full-cycle recruitment and onboarding system for the Office of Advancement
  • Identify creative and effective candidate sourcing and networking techniques
  • Lead branding and marketing efforts to expand our recruitment footprint
  • Screen, interview and reference-check prospective team members across all levels
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with our hiring managers, prospective team members and our Advancement team in general

Other specific job duties will include:

•    Contributing to Advancement’s recruitment process improvements, task forces, subsequent change management efforts, and helping to implement new strategies for improved recruitment success for faculty and staff positions.
•    Authoring effective job announcements and executing the Advancement job posting process for internal mechanisms and external publications/websites.
•    Leveraging recruiting resources (e.g., online, publications) and strategizing search options in order to identify and attract highly qualified and diverse Advancement candidates; assisting with spouse/partner recruitment and retention efforts.
•    Coordinating the screening and selection activities of Advancement recruitment including assessments, interviews, testing, reference checks; negotiating and extending offers of employment.
•    Staying current on trends and innovative recruiting techniques; developing ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
•    Conducting follow up calls and quality improvement studies with hiring managers/teams and new hires in order to continually improve upon services and experience.
•    Maintaining complete and accurate documentation of recruiting activities to support MU’s affirmative action obligations and efforts.

We’re seeking persuasive communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills for this role. Additionally, you’ll need to demonstrate customer service, collaboration, confidentiality, integrity and a commitment to inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity in your activities. 

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Communications, Project/Program Management, or Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of diverse fundraising institutions, with prior university experience preferred
  • Experience in full cycle recruitment
  • Executed challenging recruitment activities in complex organizations
  • PHR or SPHR certification and/or Certified Professional or Sr. Certified Professional
  • Experience with scheduling tools, Microsoft Teams, and HRIS & CRM databases.
  • Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office and other computer applications comfortably.
