The Senior Estate Gift Planning Officer is responsible for creating a comprehensive planned giving program to raise funds by cultivating and closing major, current or deferred gifts to reach more people, build a strong organization and inspire a smarter world while demonstrating CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.
Salary Range: $90,000- $102,000 annually

Apply HereKEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Lead a comprehensive gift planning program to include all appropriate planned giving vehicles
- Lead annual broad-based proactive plan, with a budget to grow and expand the Estate Gift Planning Program
- Monitor annual Estate Gift Planning results to determine most effective strategies
- Identify, research, cultivate and solicit qualified prospects for planned gifts and potential major gifts to meet both short-term and long-term fundraising objectives for the station
- Research and maintain individual donor profiles on qualified prospects and donors and define a strategic action plan for each prospect based on data available and supervise its use in solicitation of legacy gifts and intentions
- Manage Estate Gift Planning Officer and Gift Planning Assistant
- Lead the strategic marketing plan for Estate Gift Planning Program
- Meet with prospects and current Legacy Circle members, one-on-one and in groups, locally and regionally
- Develop stewardship strategies and benefits for planned giving donors
- Cultivate estate planning professionals and advisors regarding gift opportunities for their clients; and provide full information and materials for their use and distribution
- Lead and/or stewardship and recognition program, including annual Legacy Circle Luncheon
- Establish and maintain records systems of established contracts
- Track “matured” gifts annually in order to make projections on expectancies
- Stay current with trends in philanthropy and technical details on all forms of planned gifts and tax law changes
- Prepare and manage annual budget
- Maintain confidential database and paper files and chronological histories on planned giving prospects and donors
- Advise, and assist where appropriate and collaborate with other Development staff to maximize potential of current donors as major gift or planned giving prospects
- Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Extensive knowledge of estate/tax laws as they pertain to planned giving preferred
- Thorough working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and donor database required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Seven plus years planned giving and/or major giving experience required
- Demonstrated successful experience and effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building and solicitation required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel regionally and to Canada as needed
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
- Ability to type on a keyboard for long periods of time
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
