Director of Philanthropy and Philanthropy Officer

The Miami Foundation builds the philanthropic, civic, and leadership backbone for Greater Miami. Since 1967, the Foundation has invested $485MM to strengthen our community with partnerships and contributions from more than 1000 fundholders and 35,000 donors. The Miami Foundation, which currently manages over $450MM in assets, mobilizes donors, nonprofits, leaders, and locals to set a bold vision for our community's future and to invest in a stronger, more equitable, more resilient Greater Miami.

The Miami Foundation exists to strengthen Greater Miami. The Foundation has demonstrated the impact of united, strategic, equity-minded philanthropy, and the importance of growing the charitable muscle the Miami community needs, for today and for our future. Amid this favorable backdrop of community leadership and expansion, The Miami Foundation seeks candidates for The Director of Philanthropy and two Philanthropy Officers who will play critical roles in growing The Miami Foundation’s ultimate impact on the region at large.

The Director of Philanthropy will lead the implementation of a comprehensive philanthropy program and strategy to identify, cultivate, and secure new donors; steward existing relationships; advance a comprehensive planned giving program focused on professional advisor outreach; formulate and execute plans to increase community philanthropic partnerships; and ensure facilitation of all gifts from prospective donors, including non-cash, deferred, and testamentary gifts. They will work closely with the Vice President of Philanthropy, Managing Director of Philanthropy, Leadership Team, and the Board of Trustees to provide a high-level of internal and external leadership on behalf of the Foundation. They will cultivate and strengthen relationships that ultimately grow the ability to impact positive change in Miami. The Director reports to the Managing Director of Philanthropy.

In addition to hiring the Director of Philanthropy, the Foundation is also hiring two Philanthropy Officers. These complimentary positions will support the Director of Philanthropy in carrying out their duties. The Philanthropy Officers are responsible for developing, cultivating, and expanding relationships with potential and existing Foundation donors (Fundholders). The Philanthropy Officers both develop relationships with new potential Fundholders and manage existing Fundholder relationships, providing exceptional service and ensuring their long-term collaboration with the Foundation. They report to the Director of Philanthropy.
