The Manager, Mid-Level Program reports to and collaborates with the Senior Manager, Mid-Level Program to manage all aspects of cultivating, stewarding and solicitating Mid-Tier donors ($1,000 to $9,999). Through cultivation and stewardship, this Manager will actively work to deepen relationships across a defined Mid-Tier donor portfolio to engage donors per their preferences and ascertained interests, retain, renew, and lift their giving levels. The Manager will also identify opportunities for major gift and planned giving and communicate to appropriate colleagues for more targeted communications and outreach.

 

The role is based in our Washington, DC, Headquarters, with flexibility for Remote work, but could be Remote for the right candidate.

 Duties and Responsibilities

 
  • Cultivate and steward donors to grow and deepen engagement through a specific workplan of communication touches via phone, email or mail; managing a portfolio of 500 (minimum)-700 Mid-Tier donors.
  • Work with Senior Manager and team to achieve key cultivation and growth metrics for annual mid-level giving following No Kid Hungry mid-level business rules to retain, renew and lift donors toward higher giving ranges, deepen their engagement and develop relationships.
  • Following Share Our Strength mid-tier written processes, execute strategy through mail, phone, and email communication with minimal direction.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate and timely recording of all donor interactions and preferences for communications in database.
  • Keep current and learn about No Kid Hungry programs and projects to effectively communicate the mission to donors.
  • Collaborate with direct response, culinary, and major gifts teams to enhance donor experience and develop efficient internal processes for increased giving.

Contacts

Has regular interaction with 500-700 Mid-Tier donors and prospects. Within Share Our Strength, regular engagement and communication with development, shared support, program, and communications teams.

Supervision 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working Conditions

Normal office work environment with ability to work remotely from a home office. No heavy lifting required.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, plus at least 4 years of experience fund raising, managing aspects of events, or demonstrated ability to build sustainable relationships.
  • Proven track record of success in cultivation and stewardship of donors to renew, retain and to meet annual revenue goals. Familiarity and experience with a mid-level program, or Veritus, a plus. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) for internal and external communications, team player, poise and professionalism in working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strategic and creative thinker; highly organized and able to meet deadlines and achieve revenue targets.
  • Professional history of managing multifaceted projects and a capacity to perform well independently in a fluid, dynamic, multi-tasking environment are essential.
  • Commitment to professional development and keeping current on best practices for mid-tier stewardship and development, and overall philanthropic practices and trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite required, and experience with fund raising databases (particularly Raiser’s Edge) highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with direct mail, digital fundraising and planned giving preferred.

 

FLSA Classification

This position is classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and is ineligible for overtime pay.
