Resource Development Specialist - Workplace Giving & Engagement

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Resource Development Specialist – Workplace Giving & Engagement is the lead account specialist overseeing the day-to-day operations of WWP’s Workplace Giving and Employee Engagement initiatives. The Resource Development Specialist – Workplace Giving & Engagement collaborates with WWP’s development, internal support, and programs teams to educate, maintain, grow, and deepen relationships through these two campaigns, helping to secure high dollar, annual and multi-year funding and support to help achieve WWP’s program and revenue goals. Resource Development Specialist – Workplace Giving & Engagement guides the corporate partnerships team program analytics, data entry, and CSR platform development and alignment.


 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the day-to day relationships between individuals, companies and vendors that participate in WWP’s Workplace Giving Campaign.  Striving to achieve seven to eight figure fundraising goals, while working to meet mutual business objectives of both the donor, business partner and WWP.
  • Complete the annual registration and oversee the day-to-day logistics and growth of the annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
  • Oversee WWP’s matching gift program in relation to workplace giving. Working to maintain and grow annual fundraising, thought this matching gift opportunities.
  • Work with the donor experience and donor systems team to create and implement a gratitude initiative that will steward individuals and companies that donate to WWP through workplace giving. Effectively communicating to all donors, the impact of their donation on WWP’s programs and services delivered to wounded warriors and their families.
  • Continually look for opportunities to engage America’s Charities and 360 MatchPro in support of WWP’s workplace giving initiative.
  • Develop a portfolio of engagement opportunities that WWP teammates can implement with corporate partners, foundations, and major donors to activate their employees in support of the mission of WWP.  Maintain and oversee this portfolio of concepts and educate internal teams on what is available to them.
  • Manage industry trends in giving with support from the analytics team.  Look for opportunities to implement those trends to continually improve the success of WWP workplace giving and matching gift initiatives.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, oversee the Corporate Partnership team’s CSR, data input and analytic initiatives.  Including Salesforce implementation and education, DMI oversight and all necessary work with Donor Care Systems.
  • Track communications within Salesforce, and other CSR platforms to capture Workplace Giving activity and history.
  • Represent WWP in speaking and training opportunities with donors and potential donors. Helping them understand the importance of WWP and the overall impact their partnership has on wounded warrior and their families.
  • Travel as needed to accomplish program objectives.
  • Provide quarterly fundraising forecasting for the workplace giving initiative.  Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and efficiencies to save donor dollars.
  • Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with WWP teammates across the organization, e.g., Communications, Marketing, Programs, Legal, and other Resource Development teams, working cross channels to sustain and grow current partnerships.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, establish and annual budget in support of work portfolio. Manage that budget throughout the year.
  • Develop an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in support of both WWP’s workplace giving and employee engagement initiatives.   Assist other teammates on the Corporate Partnerships team as needed in support of the teams ongoing strategic plan specific to these two initiatives.
  • Create and maintain a professional network on behalf of Wounded Warrior Project.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong passion for technical thinking and analytics-based problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and DMI.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels of an organization and build successful and effective relationships.
  • Experience stewarding corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to monitor, compile, and analyze data to guide decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Confident communicator with demonstrated ability to present information effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities and complete assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding working environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding CSR platforms (Salesforce), ability to think analytically, strong data entry skills and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills and analytical skills in problem solving.  Being able to use these skills to then educate and teach others.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility, be decisive, influence others, and influence change.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Wounded Warrior Project and its mission, values, programs, and services, and the impact of these programs and services on wounded warriors and their families.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated understanding of military service organizations (MSOs) and veteran service organizations (VSOs).
  • High energy level, self-starter, and willing to take initiative.
  • Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

EXPERIENCE

 

Requirements:

  • Five years of account management experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • Five years of experience fundraising.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and DMI.

 

Preferences:

  • Five years of marketing, sales, or consulting experience.
  • Five years of experience working in non-profit organization.

 

EDUCATION

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

 

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

 Requirements:

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work in a WWP office a minimum of three days per week and when appropriate remotely two days per week.
  • General office environment: temperature controlled.
  • May require participation in events under varying weather conditions.
  • Up to 40% travel.
  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
