Organization Background

Doyenne Initiative is an international nonprofit organization based in Houston, Texas. to cultivate female talent in top technical fields, our inaugural program being in Mozambique with a smaller program in the Houston area, and later moving other regions in the US and other countries.  The founder of the Doyenne Initiative is the CEO of a for-profit international staffing firm based in Texas, The Global Edge Consultants ("GEC").  The GEC works to staff Major Capital Projects around the world and is familiar with the requirements of multinational corporations to hire highly educated locals for high-earning roles in international projects. Out of this knowledge and the founder's connection to both the hiring corporations and job seekers, the concept for the Doyenne Initiative was born.   

 

Job Description

The Doyenne Initiative seeks a seasoned fundraising and corporate partnership professional to work with the founder and the Strategy and Program Manager and founder.

 

Doyenne Initiative’s main focus is on raising funds for our current and future programs and establishing corporate partnerships. 

 

Fundraising shall occur  through a variety of avenues including through high-level corporate partnerships and sponsorships, grassroots fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising, merchandise sales, sponsorships from small & medium sized companies and events. We are also looking to connect with and collaborate with more local women’s and education organizations to grow our network for potential future program, fundraising and events collaborations, although our large corporate partnerships shall take priority. The strategy may shift based on outcomes and other factors. 

 

The candidate should be comfortable and adept at business development in the realm of corporate fundraising, be motivated, creative and a team player and be able to direct their own work with minimal direction. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Corporate Partnership development

    Forge long-term mutually beneficial relationships with corporate supporters and raise funds towards the ongoing Doyenne program.  Nurture and grow existing corporate relationships and develop new leads for corporate partnership and sponsorship. Develop a marketing strategy to corporate donors. Develop and write funding proposals, corporate applications and reports.  Develop a tiered offering to corporate partners and supporting marketing materials Undertake presentations at senior level meetings.  Manage relationships with Corporates before, during, and after receipt of funds and maintain a high level of supporter care with Corporate. Measure, manage and report performance using agreed performance measures. Identify and reach out to local companies, universities, nonprofits and organizations and pitch sponsorship of Doyenne to add a DEI and gender component to their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)/ESG (Environmental & Social Governance) strategies 

Stewardship of donors

    Engage and empower supporters (including board members) to maximize participation and fundraising in their communities and throughout their networks.  Manage donor processes and follow up including correspondence to donors and sponsors

Grassroots Fundraising

    Inspire new supporters, while maintaining and cultivating existing supporters. Develop and implement strategies to identify and engage new donors including through:
      engagement of national and local organizations connected to Doyenne’s mission leveraging of the existing doyenne network peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and  events (virtual and in-person)
    Guide and support Board of Directors in meeting their fundraising goals Guide and support team leads in peer-to-peer and other fundraising volunteers on meeting their fundraising goals

Grant Support

    Provide input as needed to grant writer  Work with grant writer to establish collaborative agreements and partnerships required for specific grant opportunities

Event Planning & Execution (It is preferred that the candidate is comfortable taking on event-planning duties but this activity may be spun off for the right candidate.)

    Develop, plan and execute fundraising events Manage event process from start to finish. Develop event plans, identify venues, research, recommend, and secure vendors Outreach and engagement of potential event collaborators to create interesting and unique new events Solicit in-kind product donations from event sponsors, collaborators and others Outreach and development of event sponsors.

 

Skills & Experience

    Corporate fundraising experience Strong fundraising and relationship building skills Corporate communications and pitch development experience Experience in fundraising strategy development and implementation



Experience in fundraising or sales and event planning, preferences include:

 

    Peer-to-peer fundraising experience. Experience with outreach and engagement of corporate sponsors and donors or sales experience Experience with nonprofit event fundraising.(preferred)

 

Salary

Salary commensurate with experience
