Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and securing major individual and organizational gifts to meet the short and long-term fundraising goals of the department and College. Works collaboratively and strategically with faculty, campus leaders, volunteers and advancement staff, to develop and implement strategies for major gift donor relationship management through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages a portfolio of up to 150 prospects to move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure, maintaining a balance between identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Initiates and builds effective long-term relationships with individuals as well as foundations corporations who have the capacity to give at the major gift level (minimum $25,000).

  • Recommends and implements short, intermediate and long-term individual major gifts cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects working with administration, faculty, board members, and volunteers to identify and engage new prospects for the purposes of meeting established personal and departmental fundraising goals.

  • Plans and implements events and activities for individual major gift donors, using existing activities as appropriate; engages in networking activities or other opportunities to generate potential prospects for cultivation.

  • Cultivates and expands planned giving opportunities with new and existing donors and integrates planned gift objectives into major individual donor requests in collaboration with Vice President.

  • Assists with the development of major gift materials such as research, briefing memos, proposals and stewardship materials; requests information on prospective donors to qualify interest and giving potential.

  • Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve individual performance measures.

  • Assists administrators and faculty in the recognition and prioritization of institutional and departmental funding needs, keeping abreast of institutional and departmental priorities within the college’s strategic plan.

  • Tracks and reports relationship management activity using Raisers Edge constituent relationship management system, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, proposal submission and stewardship of prospective and current individual major donors; assists with review and verification of major gift donor recognition lists.

  • Participates in regular staff and organization-wide meetings, and develops and maintains strong collaborative working relationships with other team members.

  • Knows and follows the CASE Code of Ethics for Fundraisers.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
