PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS: Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one’s personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. All employees who operate university vehicles, who are employed in a sensitive position, or who travel regularly as part of their job responsibilities may be subject to post-hire drug screening and random drug-screening. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening..

Director of Leadership Giving

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) and 5-7 years of experience in development and fundraising, with 5 years of experience in annual or major giving
  • Effective and successful track record with managing development programs within a nonprofit setting
  •   

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • With the leadership of the Vice President of University Advancement, establish yearly measurable goals for annual and campaign giving endeavors for those included in their prospect portfolio.
    • Assists in identifying individual, corporate and foundation prospects and determining strategies for solicitation.
    • Participates in the University’s prospect management, discovery/qualification visits, and related prospect development programs. 
    • Assists in maintaining the University’s database by routinely entering donor call reports and contacts. Monitors prospect contacts to ensure foundation and corporation donors are moving through the pipeline of giving.
    • Collaborates with other organization team members to inspire trust, encourage creative thinking and collaborate with other staff and volunteers to increase significantly private gifts to Brenau University. Works collaboratively with others in the University Advancement office and across campus to solicit donors for university-wide priorities.
    • Serves as an ambassador for Brenau University in the community.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Environmental and Working Conditions:

    Normal environment found in an educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required.

     

    Work Hours:

    37.5 hours per week. Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours will be extended throughout the year to meet the needs of the department and the events and travel associated with a fundraising position. 

      

    Home Campus Designation:

    This position is an on-ground position in Gainesville, GA.

    Licensure Requirements:
