Seeking Tenure-Track Faculty Member
in Nonprofit Management for Spring 2023
Position will be hired at an advanced level {assistant or
associate, depending on qualifications).
This position replaces a longtime faculty member of 33 years, who
will retire half-time and
continue directing the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership for the
2022-23 academic year. The
position requires an earned doctorate in Nonprofit Management,
Human Services Administration, Macro
Social Work, Public Administration and/or Public Policy or relevant
discipline with a specific
concentration in nonprofit management. Teaching load of four
courses each semester (with possible
release for community involvement). Other requirements include:
1. Extensive undergraduate teaching experience relevant to the
position
2. Evidence of successfully engaging students actively within and
beyond the classroom,
including high-impact pedagogical practices, civic engagement,
and/or community-based research.
3. Evidence of researching and/or constructing cross-sector
collaboration to address nonprofit
sector capacity building and community priorities.
4. Experience supporting the work of nonprofit organizations and/or
working as a nonprofit
professional.
5. Experience establishing, working in, and/or directing an
academic research center, community
based research/development center, and/or nonprofit leadership
academic center.
6. Experiencing developing, teaching in, and/or directing a
graduate level nonprofit management
program.
7. Proof of providing both traditional and online course
delivery.
8. Sustained record of relevant scholarly activity.
9. Successful performance in an interview and teaching
demonstration required.
This faculty member will support the Institute for Nonprofit
Leadership at SRU including,
strengthening the institutes' regional networks, conducting
research, engaging students and other
SRU faculty to support Institute research and programming,
supervising Institute staff, securing
Institute contracts and other financial support, and assisting in
the capacity building of
nonprofit organizations served by the
Institute. In addition, this senior faculty member will assist the
institutes' Advisory Council
with strategic planning and implementation, revenue generation,
program assessment, preparation of
reports, and day to-day management of the Institute.
This faculty member will coordinate the planning and approval of
an online master's program in
Nonprofit Management program that is expected to launch in the near
future. This faculty member
will also lead the department in seeking NACC and other relevant
accreditation for SRU's current
undergraduate, future graduate programs, and the Institute. This
faculty member should be prepared
to create and sustain regional and national distinction for SRU's
nonprofit management programs and
the Institute, thus we seek to hire an advanced faculty member,
with rank and step to be negotiated
according to expertise and experience.
