The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference (Trail Conference) is responsible for maintaining, improving, and conserving 100 park units across 22 counties in the greater New York metropolitan area. They will oversee and improve the Trail Conference’s membership base, which is currently comprised of approximately 8,500 members and 60 member clubs, to improve member acquisition, retention, and benefits.

The successful candidate will partner with senior leadership to develop message and marketing strategies to raise the organizational profile, ensure effective positioning, and increase fundraising capacity. S/he will oversee marketing and communications efforts related to philanthropy, such as ensuring effective and ongoing communication with donors and prospects and the creation of collateral materials. The Advancement Director will integrate philanthropic messages and asks into all external communications while maintaining a clear and consistent voice to stakeholders.

The Advancement Director will report to the Executive Director and serve on the Executive Leadership Team. S/he will lead a team of five professionals in fundraising and communications. The successful candidate will ensure the creative and strategic philanthropic engagement of Trail Conference’s key stakeholders, including Board members, staff, and volunteers.
