Director of Development
Reports to the Managing Director and
works very closely with the Artistic Director.
Manages two full-time direct reports:
the Manager of Institutional Giving and the Donor Relations &
Collaborates with other department
heads to promote cross-departmental productivity. (For
example: reconciliation with Business; coordination on events,
newsletters, invitations and publications with Communications;
coordination on events with the Production; collaboration with
Artistic on grant language, “moves management” strategy and
Contributes to many theater-wide
decisions including the annual budget and season
Participates in all Board
Works closely with the Chair of the
Development Committee of the Board and serves as the staff liaison
to the Committee and to the Full Board.
Create a written annual development
strategy in coordination with the annual budget and the strategic
Identify, cultivate, and manage
individual and institutional giving prospect lists and apply
effective cultivation and solicitation strategies to expand
Implement cultivation and stewardship
strategies to achieve contributed revenue goals from individuals
& Board, foundations & government as well as cash, in-kind
and trade contributions from corporate/business sources.
Manage prospecting, cultivation,
solicitation and stewardship of donors.
Plan and execute benefit and
Contribute to publication of Annual
Report and Season Brochure.
Cultivate vendor and partner
Budget and track development
Report to leadership and the Board of
Directors on ROI, revenue and constituent growth.
Ensure CRM donor data integrity
Stay current with changes pertinent
to fundraising within the community, to the organization's mission
and programs, and to the development profession.
Minimum two years non-profit
fundraising or equivalent; with track record of success
Organized and inspiring team leader,
who is able to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people,
and to motivate staff, donors, volunteers.
Strong interpersonal, supervision,
administration and management skills.

Resourcefulness, creativity, and
strong problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with donor tracking
systems and fundraising software and tools including Patron Manager
and iWave preferred.
Ability to forecast and evaluate the
potential of fund-raising campaigns and activities.

Flex hours with some evening and
weekend availability required
Salary Range: $70,000-80,000
