New Samaritan Corporation, headquartered in North Haven, Connecticut, seeks an innovative and inspirational executive, that promotes the Mission of the organization, to serve as its next President and Chief Executive Officer ("CEO"). This is an unparalleled opportunity to lead a large and well respected, senior living organization. The ideal candidate will possess the integrity, vision and leadership ability to successfully guide the organization through a period of executive transition and position it for the future.

Founded in 1970 by a retired United Church of Christ minister, New Samaritan’s Mission is to create quality affordable living environments for seniors that are comfortable, diverse, equitable, and inclusive by breaking down barriers of race, class, and geography, and providing a foundation for human dignity.

New Samaritan Corporation offers a variety of communities and accommodations for older adults. As of 2022 the organization had developed over 2,000 units of affordable housing for seniors, in 47 locations across Connecticut and an 88-bed skilled and subacute nursing and rehabilitation center. We currently have a 22-unit senior housing complex under development in Hartford.  Elderly Housing Management, a related entity manages more than 2,600 units in over 60 locations of primarily senior restricted affordable housing, concentrated in Connecticut. The organization employs a diverse, talented and dedicated team of over 360 staff members and has $22.8 million in annual revenue.

The CEO will serve as the face of New Samaritan Corporation at the state and regional level and gain a reputation as a visible and respected industry leader. The CEO will actively participate in industry advocacy efforts and lead strategies to advance philanthropic giving.

Reporting to the Boards of Directors, the next CEO will support the organization and advance a collaborative culture that inspires excellence and creativity in the fulfillment of the expansion of New Samaritan Corporation's Mission. The CEO will bring superb interpersonal skills, outstanding business acumen and a record of success in meeting business and financial targets, ideally gained as a leader in a multi-site senior living and affordable housing organization. In collaboration with the Boards of Directors and Senior Leadership Team, the CEO will lead a well-managed and financially stable organization that is committed to carrying out its Mission.

The CEO will lead with innovation and creativity and develop ongoing strategies to respond to industry trends, including programmatic expansion, technology innovation and new partnerships to address the changing affordable housing needs of older adults. The CEO will identify and advance new growth strategies and care for seniors and address current workforce trends and challenges. The new leader will have strong respect and appreciation for the legacy, heritage, history, Mission and culture of New Samaritan Corporation and will lead a capable and autonomous Senior Leadership Team.
