This position is based out of Feeding America’s new office location in the heart of downtown Chicago. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2-3 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day “work anywhere” program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.

Salary Range: $103,000 to $130,000+ Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, execution, measurement, and optimization of a full funnel paid digital media strategy to support FANO strategic priorities and imperative and accelerate growth of unrestricted fundraising revenue.
  • Collaborate across the Marketing and Digital Experience team to integrate paid digital media into multichannel marketing, digital marketing, and fundraising campaigns, including testing, and measuring the impact of integration.
  • Define media measurement framework for evaluating performance and implement the framework to create consistency and accountability against FANO strategic priorities, imperative, revenue target and department objectives.
  • Establish fundraising revenue target for paid digital media channels and ensure the paid digital media plan supports fundraising goals to achieve the revenue target and acquire, cultivate, retain, steward, and diversify donors.
  • Lead a small, talented hybrid team to support their professional development by understanding of individual career goals and coaching for success, both in terms of achieving performance goals and building leadership competencies.
  • Build, manage and oversee relationships with digital media agencies, engage with digital creative production agencies and participate in regular reviews of provider portfolio, in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Develop and manage paid digital media expense budget, in coordination with departmental leadership, to support needs for digital media placements, production and measurement, both in terms of financial and non-financial success.
  • Oversee planning and optimization of paid digital media spend and channel mix across search engine marketing (SEM), programmatic media, loyalty, and third-party platforms, paid social and emerging media channels.
  • Identify, evaluate, and share emerging trends, tactics, insights, opportunities, and threats related to digital media and data privacy to educate peers; inform FANO approach; elevate top practices; and influence strategic planning.
  • Serve as a member of the Extended Department Leadership team, including participating in strategic planning in partnership at the department level and in collaboration with neighboring departments with whom we share objectives.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
   Must Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in progressive digital paid media roles, including experience in a media agency and with data-driven, performance media, associated tech, and planning across media channels
  • Comfort working in a collaborative environment and serving as a thought partner to cross-functional teams with willingness to be agile to organizational change and with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 4+ years of experience managing a team, including aligning team members and their time to support strategic priorities, leading, and developing a team to achieve impact, while maintaining productive relationships
  • Experience managing media, marketing and/or creative agency relationships and budgets, including developing a lead conversion strategy, digital media advertising and execution
  • Strong measurement, analytic and data interpretation related to paid digital media and digital marketing, with keen understanding of media analytic tools used to drive media performance optimization 
  • Innovative, growth mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities, comfort and passion for learning new skills and proactively seeking new insight, and a strong desire to develop as a leader

   Preferred:

  • Paid or volunteer experience in a non-profit organization
  • Experience with paid media as part of a digital fundraising program
  • Experience with web content management (Drupal) and fundraising systems (EveryAction)
