The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) seeks an extraordinary leader who recognizes the value of philanthropy to higher education and has a passion for public higher education. The University of Iowa Center for Advancement invites inquiries, nominations and applications for the position for Senior Vice President (SVP), Finance and Operations.

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement, a separate 501(c)(3), works collaboratively with the University of Iowa to promote engagement and philanthropic support. The mission of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement is to “Advance the University of Iowa through engagement and philanthropy”. The vision is to “Engage. Inspire. Advance Iowa.”

Reporting to the CEO of the UICA, the successful SVP will have a collaborative approach to leadership and commitment to achieving the aspirational goals of the UICA. The SVP will work directly with staff and UICA board leadership on strategic and tactical activities of UICA. Superior strategic ability, leadership, executive financial acumen and communication will be a particular advantage.

The UICA seeks a SVP who will mentor the team and continue to foster a culture of respectful collaboration and collegiality. Strong leadership skills will benefit the organization as it responds to increasing university needs for engagement and philanthropy. The SVP should embrace an inclusive, team-oriented approach in managing the UICA Financial, Investments, Information Technology and Facilities teams, working with the advancement staff and the academic enterprise.
