Fordham University seeks a creative, detail-driven, and constituent-focused Assistant Director, Donor Relations (Assistant Director). The successful candidate will steward the University’s donors and articulate the impact of their significant philanthropic commitments. S/he will lead the research and production of customized stewardship communications, programs, and reports to illustrate the impact of philanthropy on programmatic and academic initiatives, major facilities improvements, and the value of financial aid investments.

 

The Assistant Director will ensure the timely and meaningful creation of collateral for donor stewardship, including copy, social media, photos, videos, reports, special events, and posts for Fordham’s website. The candidate will draft highly personalized stewardship plans for top donors with focus on experiential stewardship in partnership with Office of Development and University Relations (DAUR) leadership and assigned gift officers. S/he will systematically identify and develop new opportunities and methods for stewardship, including the usage of electronic donor communications.

 

S/he will have strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational and project management skills. The successful Assistant Director will manage various forms of communications with Fordham’s diverse pool of students while reinforcing the concept of being ambassadors to Fordham’s donor community.

 

The Assistant Director will report to the Executive Director of Donor Relations. The candidate will collaborate extensively with Fordham’s Marketing and Communications Department to ensure effective message strategy to steward and engage University donors. In addition, s/he will work closely with the Finance office to ensure endowed funds are appropriately tracked and expended.
