Job
Summary:
Directs and
coordinates institution-wide funds raising efforts and activities
for cancer efforts at UT Health including Mays Cancer Center,
Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute, and related
campaigns.
Job
Duties:
Directs and
coordinates philanthropic activities that advance strategic
University-wide programs to build interdisciplinary donor support
that complements donor goals.
Identifies,
cultivates, solicits, and stewards philanthropic support through a
variety of donor development strategies including major gifts,
individual and annual giving, foundation grants, and alumni
activities.
Develops
donor and prospect relationships to increase the number of donors,
university-wide, and expand donor support for University
priorities.
Manages a
portfolio of donors, including high potential prospects; leads
strategic development of new donor relationships with the
Institution including planning and coordination of donor
cultivation strategies and gift solicitation for major gifts and
cultivation of planned gifts.
Plans and
implements short, medium, and long-range fund-raising plans for
prospects and donors to support the development of long-term donor
relationships that complement donor interests and meet the current
and future needs of the Institution.
Establishes
and maintains effective relationships with key internal University
partners including Deans, Department Chairs, Institute and Center
Directors, Faculty, and University and Hospital leadership and with
key University volunteer partners to advance donor development and
support strategic university philanthropy.
Provides
supervision and management of department employees.
Measures and
assesses performance for employees and contributes to decisions
regarding assignments, schedules, and promotions.
Performs all
other duties as assigned.
Education:
A Bachelor’s
degree is required.
Experience:
Ten (10)
years of experience in fundraising, public relations, and alumni
relations is required.
Preferred:
Preferred
experience with advancement in a complex medical center or higher
education.
Supervisory
Requirements:
Has the
authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or
provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement,
promotion, or any other change of status of other employees.
