- Development: Develop strategies to increase membership and financial support for Friends of Art membership program in order to achieve annual revenue goals.
- Staff Management & Development: Responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching and general management of department leaders ensuring direct reports have the tools, resources, and support to be successful in their roles. Provides opportunities for development (training) and holds each accountable for their performance.
- CRM: Provide tactical CRM support for membership and annual fund (build extractions, lists, segment data, etc.
- Data Analytics: Working within the museum’s CRM system, develops strategies through relevant data analytics; track revenue, forecast for future projections and extract data to inform membership decisions.
- Acquisitions/Solicitations: Manage the tactical implementation of direct mail appeals from start to finish: set strategy, write copy, oversee design, and print, select and segment lists, coordinate with mail house, track, report and analyze performance within both revenue and expense budgets.
- Fiscal Management: Identifies and analyzes needs for changing the department’s plans or budgets by consistently monitoring relevant s budgets/timetables, prioritizing, and adjusting as necessary, and informing as appropriate.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with Guest Services staff to train front line staff to conduct membership sales and renewals experiences, benefit fulfillment, and general member customer service.
- Other: Complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years previous supervisory experience, specifically with performance management and team development.
- Three to five years experience working with membership and/or donors.
- Proven track record of developing and overseeing successful fundraising campaigns.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and ethics; an understanding of annual giving and membership strategies.
- Highly proficient/aptitude with Client Relationship software (CRM), such as Tessitura.
- Experience managing budgets ($210,000 department budget).
- Experience in large-scale fundraising and donor events as the incumbent will Plan and implement 20 annual membership events including the annual YFA fundraiser, Party Arty.

Position Specifications
Salary Grade Starting Salary Grade 9 $83,000-$93,330 per year FLSA Classification Exempt Working Conditions This position frequently attends membership events that occur in the evening and/or weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods while using a computer/laptop/tablet to attain and communicate information. The employee will occasionally traverse from one location to another throughout the museum. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Provides a high level of support for Sr. Development Director, Fundraising Strategy with future growth strategies for the department. Leadership and staffing of the Museum’s membership program will often require evening and weekend commitments in order to meet desired outcomes and goals.Non-Discrimination
