The Director also acts as the primary point of contact for the Parents Leadership Council and oversees meaningful stewardship of this leadership giving society. This position comes at an exciting time for the College, as it has entered into the foundational year of an ambitious comprehensive campaign. The Director serves as a part of the College Advancement leadership team, and will play a significant role in helping to meet and exceed engagement goals that will be set forth as an important measure of the campaign’s success.

A bachelor’s degree is required. This position requires weekend and evening work and travels as necessary to implement off campus events and programs. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience at a higher education institution is strongly preferred as is a considerable knowledge of parent and family relations, development, and volunteer management. Proven record of program and event planning and execution preferred.

The following demonstrated abilities are desired: think strategically and creatively; operate in an organized manner; commitment to diversity and inclusion; manage many projects simultaneously; communicate exceptionally well orally and in writing; focus on teamwork; be goal and achievement oriented; manage situations diplomatically and sensitively; strong interpersonal skill when working with all Gettysburgians; handle information confidentially; high energy and personal resourcefulness; commitment to private, highly selective liberal arts education.
