Job Description

St. Luke’s School is seeking a Director of Alumni Engagement. Working closely with a dynamic Development team and new Head of School, this individual will be responsible for developing strategic, engaging, and content-driven programs that strengthen and promote new and meaningful connections with St. Luke’s Alumni while elevating the visibility of both alumni and St. Luke’s throughout the entire school community. The Director of Alumni Engagement will report to the Associate Director of Development.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction and operations of the Alumni Office including programs, volunteer relations, fundraising, budget, and events.

  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for AABA members and other key volunteers. Identify, recruit, train, manage, and engage the Alumni Association Board of Advisors (AABA), its subcommittees, and other volunteer groups as needed. 

  • Develop a multi-year strategy for increased alumni engagement that supports the mission and initiatives of St. Luke’s School.  

  • Assess the effectiveness of current programs and special events. Plan and oversee virtual, regional, and on-campus alumni events, including Homecoming and reunions.

  • Evaluate and develop an appropriate and meaningful reunion program in support of the broader alumni engagement strategy.

  • Partner with the Director of Annual Giving and the Associate Director of Individual Giving to determine the annual fundraising strategy for Alumni.  

  • Conduct regular alumni visits relating to discovery, cultivation, and stewardship.

  • Collaborate with the Stewardship and Communications Manager on the alumni content for the Annual Report/Magazine, alumni web content, and social media presence.

  • Provide staff support to the Head of School, Chief Advancement Officer, and other administrators at local and regional alumni events.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of Alumni Program work, with a proven ability to grow an alumni program/increase alumni engagement. A Bachelor's degree is required, Master’s preferred.

In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Familiarity and enthusiasm for the School’s mission and a commitment to fostering an inclusive community.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.  

  • Demonstrated success in program development and the ability to inspire others. 

  • Proven ability to motivate, engage, and work with a wide variety of constituencies.  

  • Experience working with volunteer leaders, including staffing volunteer committees. 

  • Ability to craft strategy while maintaining an excellent grasp of details. Ability and willingness to travel and occasionally work weekends and evenings required.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GSuite, as well as database experience (preferably Raiser’s Edge), are required.
