Data Coordinator         


The ASU Outreach Hub is dedicated to connecting more constituents in impactful ways using data-derived insights, integrated and collaborative approaches, and advanced outreach techniques in support of the ASU Public Enterprise.


Working as a Data Coordinator, you will contribute to a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of constituent data to ensure accuracy and completeness.



What you’ll do:
  • Maintain correct information within alumni profile records including but not limited to employment, family relationships, academic degrees, and contact information
  • Perform data entry of new profiles including, but not limited to business contacts, prospects, students, and graduates; create record of contact and personal identification information
  • Complete data collection, analysis, reporting, and documentation to ensure accurate and timely processing or development of required reports
  • Perform alumni data research for interdepartmental requests and provide stewardship support for additional constituent data as needed
  • Record alumni communication restriction requests in appropriate databases, including Salesforce Advancement
  • Receive and research death notifications to verify accuracy; update database to reflect alumnus as deceased and complete necessary forms for final processing 
  • Oversee returned mail and research and correct alumni addresses using a variety of resources and searchable sites
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process efficiencies as appropriate
  • Make corrections and/or edits to databases as requested
  • Other duties as assigned  



What you'll need:
  • Knowledge of the practices and methods of database maintenance
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and use of internet searches and available references
  • Skill in performing high volume data entry accurately
  • Skill in performing database inquiries for reporting purposes
  • High level of customer service
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies of varying backgrounds and interests
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities and time constraints
  • Experience working with Salesforce and Peoplesoft is preferred
  • Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information
  • Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible 
  • Team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies
  • Ability to represent the institution well
  • An advocate’s belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects
  • Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans



Relevant qualifications:


Two (2) years of experience working in an administrative capacity with responsibility for accurately recording and maintaining database and related information in a high-volume area with familiarity with the use of web- based search methods.  Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved will also be considered.
