Assistant Director, Annual Giving Partnerships

 

ASU Foundation, one of five nonprofit entities that make up ASU Enterprise Partners, is seeking a Assistant Director, Annual Giving Partnerships.

 

The Assistant Director, Annual Giving Partnerships will develop relationship-based, donor-centric annual giving annual plans and outreach campaigns in collaboration with the ASU Foundation (ASUF) unit partners.  This role will manage a team of unit portfolio managers/coordinators, develop relationship with unit development teams, and execute unit-specific and donor centric solicitation strategies. Led by data and donor insights, unit-specific plans will align donor segments and implement a multi-pronged solicitation plan to achieve and optimize, donor retention, reactivation and acquisition strategies.  This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Strategic Outreach.

 

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Strategy Development
    • Architect and activate unit-specific annual giving fiscal strategies to grow support from existing donors and attract new donors based on key unit priorities and areas of opportunities within the donor pipeline.
    • Analyze unit-specific donor data, defining targeted and actionable segments for campaigns and programs for unit portfolios and oversee a team’s analysis and identification of actionable, data-driven segments.
    • Manage a consolidated unit outreach calendar and share broadly with ASU stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the development of a unit-specific analytics program in partnership with the ASUEP data and analysis team and Annual Giving vendor partner data and insights team.
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with the various members of the Annual Giving team to execute an engaging multi-channel activation calendar.
    • Lead a quarterly unit annual giving roundtable group to share out prior campaign results, highlight annual giving best practices or successes and provide a forward overview of upcoming initiatives.
  • Team & Portfolio Management     
    • Build and foster a portfolio of reciprocal relationships with key unit development and communication leads.
    • Manage a team of two professional staff who are responsible for management and execution of unit portfolios and donor outreach campaigns.
    • Facilitate weekly 1:1 check-in meeting; manage team member’s workloads, and provide coaching and professional development.
    • Contribute insights and feedback into the evolving unit partnership framework.
    • Develop an efficient project management system and unit relationship CRM to track campaign progress to launch and document unit-specific information and relationship notes.
    • Set and clearly communicate proactive, specific, and clear expectations; and keep direct management apprised of program status in a proactive and timely manner all with a keen attention to details.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of development/fundraising, preferably in higher education
  • Excellent technical skills - MS Office (specifically advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Hands-on experience working with CRM, Salesforce experience a plus.

 

 

Relevant qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, and 4-6 years’ experience in development, fundraising or loyalty marketing with 2-3 years of direct or team management experience. Prior solicitation writing a plus. Previous experience with contact strategy development and execution preferred. Hands-on experience working with CRM, Salesforce experience a plus.

Working conditions:

 

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. This position may require some early mornings and evenings to accommodate meetings and events. This position currently requires you to work from the office.

Working equipment:

 

This position will require a laptop computer, telephone, and mobile communication device ($30 bi-weekly payroll reimbursement) , corporate credit card and business cards.
