The Vice President for University Advancement is the chief development and alumni relations officer, reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the University's Executive Cabinet. The Vice President provides vision, strategic leadership, and long-range and annual planning to assist the President in attaining the University's advancement and institutional goals. Working in partnership with key stakeholders, the Vice President is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all fundraising programs (including planned giving, annual giving, endowment, capital, and major gift campaigns), alumni and parent relations efforts, and corporate and foundation relations.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated history of success in fundraising management and expertise in developing fundraising plans, case statements, and capital campaigns with a proven track record of soliciting and closing major gifts.
  • Track record of successfully supervising, mentoring, and inspiring staff and working effectively with administrators, boards, faculty, alumni, and corporate and community leaders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
