Rockefeller.edu
The world’s leading biomedical research university, The Rockefeller University (Rockefeller) draws top scientists and graduate students from around the world in pursuit of one mission: to conduct science for the benefit of humanity. During the University’s current Campaign for the Convergence of Science and Medicine, the Development Program raises approximately $135 million annually to support Rockefeller’s mission and strategic priorities. Working with the Board of Trustees and volunteer groups including The Rockefeller University Council, the Committee on Trust and Estate Plans, and the Women and Science and Parents and Science Initiatives, the Development Office oversees all private fund-raising at the University, including annual, capital, and endowment campaigns.
The Rockefeller University seeks an experienced, intelligent, polished Associate Director, Planned Giving (Associate Director). S/he will work closely with the Senior Director of Planned Giving to manage and expand the University’s Planned Giving program by leading the cultivation and stewardship of planned giving prospects and donors. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of planned giving vehicles (e.g., bequests, charitable trusts, and in-kind gifts) and an understanding of complex gift transactions, including contributions of publicly traded and privately held stock, partnership interest, and cryptocurrency.
The Associate Director will serve as a seasoned and effective partner to senior members of the Development team, assisting donors to meet their philanthropic objectives while creating support for the University’s strategic objectives. The Associate Director will oversee and coordinate stock and wire gift transfers and assist the Senior Director in drafting gift agreements for major benefactors.
The Associate Director will be responsible for the writing and production of Living Legacies, an elegant brochure that highlights major planned gifts to Rockefeller and the donors who made these contributions possible. S/he will partner with the University’s Committee on Trust and Estate Gift Plans to broaden membership, activate committee members as volunteers, and identify and cultivate prospective members. The ideal candidate will create proposals, reports, events, and correspondence for individuals, trusts, and foundations associated with the Committee.
