Reporting to the Chief Development and Communications Officer, the Development Manager is an exceptionally motivated and highly organized individual who provides critical support to the development and communications team. This person will provide fundraising, executive, and administrative aid to help drive the momentum of our team to reach its goals. This position requires an entrepreneurial self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects, and prioritize and coordinate with internal and external teams to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
⦁ As an expert user of Raiser’s Edge, manages the donor database
and all donation platforms, ensures timely gift entry and
acknowledgment; provides high level expertise for specialized
reporting and queries and spearheads the identification and
implementation of best practices for the database; trains other
staff on use of Raiser’s Edge as necessary
⦁ Works with the Chief Development and Communications Officer to
design a comprehensive development dashboard and ensures timely
generation and delivery of all fundraising reports for its
maintenance on a monthly basis
⦁ Serves as the liaison to Finance for reconciliation purposes.
Submits all original contribution documentation to Finance and
coordinates with that team to ensure accuracy of all data
⦁ With Chief Development and Communications Officer, creates and
implements annual fundraising strategy with a focus on individual
giving; systematically reviews and analyzes potential prospects as
directed including conducting research, preparing research,
drafting letters of introduction, and updating internal
stakeholders
⦁ Serves as the relationship manager for the Associate Board.
Provides necessary information; arranges and attends all Associate
Board meetings and supports all events and projects
⦁ Communicates with Board members regarding up-to-date solicitor
lists, providing materials for the appeal and gala and generating
any other requested reports
⦁ Monitors and triages general donor requests to the development
email account
⦁ Coordinates with donors to facilitate incoming in-kind donations
and collaborates with facilities and program staff to distribute
items to clients
⦁ Along with the Chief Development and Communications Officer,
serves as the point person for the annual gala, coordinating event
details with all relevant stakeholders and vendors; supports
planning for and attends smaller events as necessary throughout the
year
⦁ Performs all other duties as assigned and as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience
⦁ Bachelor’s Degree required
⦁ 5-7 years of relevant experience
⦁ Experience with fundraising CRM required; Raiser’s Edge NXT
experience preferred
⦁ Experience with Tableau or similar platform preferred
Skills
⦁ High caliber analytical and problem-solving.
⦁ Strong interpersonal and relationship building/management.
⦁ Excellent written and verbal communication.
⦁ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
⦁ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,
and Excel).
⦁ Experience using relational databases and statistical software
preferred.
⦁ Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders (e.g.
funders, employers, colleagues).
Physical Capabilities
⦁ Ability to travel using public transportation to and from various
programs sites and other locations.
